Ted began photographing the night sky through a 35mm SLR camera mounted to the back of a telescope. Nebulae, planets, constellations, the moon and events like comets and northern lights presented challenges to capture on film. More than 2 decades ago, he began photographing birds through the same telescope along the Wisconsin River. During the winter months Bald Eagles would gather to feed near the damn in Prairie du Sac. Since then, Ted has taken pictures of the birds in his back yard as well as traveling to photograph events including the Sandhill crane migration in Nebraska, prairie chickens booming in central Wisconsin and the winter owls visiting northern Wisconsin and Minnesota.

A March camping trip to Yellowstone National Park provided great opportunities to take pictures of breathtaking scenery and the animals adapting to the dramatic winter elements.

Ted enjoys sharing these images of wildlife from Wisconsin and around the country and hopes that everyone is encouraged to learn more about and protect our diverse and fragile environment.
